Funding Support and Advice at No Upfront Cost
Worried about funding Your Modular Project?
Leave it to us
Aside from picking out all of the little details that make your new modular installation unique to your site, perhaps the most difficult aspect of any new project is finding funding. Many clubs, particularly those run or maintained by membership organisations or charities, often struggle to find the budget to complete major works and so instead find themselves having to resort to stopgap measures.
We think this is unfair. Every club and venue, no matter their size or economic power, deserves to have facilities they can be proud of.
That’s why we’re excited to announce a new partnership aimed at tackling the funding gap between the richest and the poorest clubs in all sports across the nation.
RISE’s partnership with Media & MGMT, and their charitable fundraising arm We Raise The Game, was born out of mutual respect. Both hailing from Doncaster, on the face of it you couldn’t find two companies more different – us as builders and MGMT as sporting talent agents – but what brings us together is our shared ethos.
We both firmly believe that business shouldn’t just serve corporate interests or exist solely to fill the pockets of shareholders. Rather, business is at its best when it gives back to the communities it operates in. At RISE, we achieve this through our High 5 Promise, our pledge to donate at least 5% of our time and profits back into good causes each year. At MGMT, they achieve this by supporting a massive array of charities and community interest companies, both directly and through their fundraising agency, We Raise The Game.
It’s this shared vision that’s brought us to this point: we’re so pleased to announce that our new partnership will see We Raise The Game’s headline bid writing services marry up with RISE’s specialist accessible construction expertise to deliver modular pods and room adaptations to our shared clients at no additional cost.
We Raise the Game provides a fund-raising consultancy service for Sports Clubs, Charities and Social Enterprises.
If an organisation is set up on a not-for-profit basis there are normally several funds and grants available. This could include money for capital work (building work and equipment) or money towards projects such as targeting more women and girls or engaging more young people.
The beneficiary organisation does not need to be the club itself – it could be a Disabled Supporters Association, a Widening Participation Organisation or any other non-profit that contributes to the promotion of participation in sport at your venue.
Participation in sports can attract funding from across several areas. For example, sport helps improve health and wellbeing, reduces crime and antisocial behaviour, trains and educates young people and brings the community closer together. All of these things can attract external funding!
There are certain standards that organisations have to meet to be able to be eligible for funding such as looking after the financial accounts properly and having the right insurance and policies in place. Most organisations already have them but if you need help getting things in place We Raise The Game can help with that, too.
Our joint process varies slightly depending whether you opt for a Modular Pod or an Internal Adaptation. We’ve outlined both of the journies below, so there’ll be no surprises when it comes to timelines or next steps.
A RISE consultant will visit with you at your site to discuss preferred locations and conduct initial surveys. Following this, they’ll provide you with an initial design and a detailed quote.
In parallel, you’ll have your first conversations with We Raise The Game’s bid writers to ensure your suitability for lending, as the majority of funding will only be released on project completion.
At this stage, we also advise you have a conversation with Access & Inclusion UK, so their expert team can advise you on future accessibility requirements you may wish to address through funding packages.
Once RISE’s quote has been confirmed, We Raise The Game spring into action, submitting your project to the relevant funds and grants in accordance with your sport, your method of incorporation and several other factors.
Funding can be in place in as little as 12 weeks of submission, though this will vary with each grant scheme.
While We Raise The Game handle fundraising, the team at RISE will start work on your planning application on your behalf, bringing to bear their years of experience and their 100% record on planning applications.
The average planning process takes around 12 weeks from submission to approval.
Once funds have been awarded and planning permission confirmed, RISE will agree a start date for your build.
This is where the fun begins! RISE begins work on the build side of your project.
RISE’s fabrication specialists at our dedicated factory will start the process of building your new pod, complete with all of the fixtures, fittings and finishes you selected during the design phase. Precision on this scale isn’t achievable overnight; typically, your project will take around 5 weeks to build.
As your Modular Pod build nears completion, our groundworks partners at Manvers Main Construction will start their work on site, preparing the ground, exposing utilities and conducting the M&E basework needed to ensure your new building will slide into place without a hitch.
With groundworks complete and your Pod fully fabricated, we load it onto a Hiab (really!) and drive it to your site, before carefully craning it in to position, connecting it to utilities and fitting it out with any agreed equipment. Typically, between groundworks and installation, we’ll spend from 1-2 weeks actually on site, meaning disruption to the day to day running of your club or venue is kept to an absolute minimum.
Your new modular facility is handed over, ready to go!
Typically, from start to finish, this whole process can be completed in as little as 6 months (from initial meetings to final handover).
If you’ve opted for a Changing Places toilet, then your facility comes with a 3-year service agreement, covered as part of the fundraising process. This will ensure all your equipment remains in tip-top shape and is safe for use by your visitors.
A RISE consultant will visit with you at your site to survey your chosen room or rooms and ensure they’re good candidates for adaptation. Following this, they’ll provide you with an initial design and a detailed quote, so you know exactly what will be spent where.

Our Internal Adaptations team have years of experience conducting complex builds in tight spaces. Though no two jobs are exactly the same, as an example, a typical Changing Places toilet adaptation can usually be completed within 2 weeks, including any demolition work that may be required.
