Changing Places Case Study: Rossington Leisure Centre

Developing Doncaster

In round one of the government’s Levelling Up Housing and Communities funding for Changing Places, Doncaster got the go-ahead for seven Changing Places toilets. The first installation was a modular facility at Doncaster Cycle Track, quickly followed by Rossington Leisure Centre.

Operating as part of Doncaster and Culture Leisure Trust (DCLT), Rossington Leisure Centre re-opened in October 2022 following a £750k renovation to improve both health and social interaction in the area. The adaptation of an existing room into a new Changing Places toilet was a key part of this project.

Investing in Doncaster People

RISE was selected to deliver this project due to our expertise in delivering turnkey projects of this nature, as well as the fact that we’re a Doncaster-based business. Working collaboratively with DCLT and their principal contractor, our team took an existing room from its bare shell to a high specification Changing Places toilet within three weeks.

We completed every aspect of the job from the initial drainage and structural alterations to the plumbing, electrics, and installation of all specialist healthcare equipment. Walls were clad in high-impact wall panelling and floors finished with anti-slip Polyfloor Hydro. The finished result is a fully compliant facility, that is now registered with the Changing Places Consortium.
