With free seminars introducing Changing Places, sensory rooms, multifaith spaces and the best practices around them before your project begins, and free support and training after your handover, we’ll make sure all your questions are answered and training needs met.

Run by Jane Cooper of Access & Inclusion UK and RISE’s Director of Adaptations Ben Hickey, these free 90-minute sessions comprise a crash course in everything you need to know -with ample time set aside to answer questions about your specific project.

Since forming in 2019, everyone we’ve spoken to have told us that Changing Places toilets are a great idea – they’ve just never heard of them before.
Spreading the word about these important facilities is a responsibility we take really seriously. RISE was founded specifically to meet the needs of the 250,000 disabled people in the UK who need Changing Places toilets, so educating the public about the lack of them – and other similar facilities – and the positive impact they have is vital to us.
That’s why we’ve partnered with Jane Cooper and her company, Access & Inclusion UK to deliver free Accessible Design introductory seminars for clubs, venues, arenas and stadia.
As a parent to a disabled child herself, Jane has first-hand experience of how Changing Places can change lives. As a CIPD-certified professional with decades of experience delivering training, Jane is able to bring both her professional and personal experience to bear to incredible effect, painting a stark and detailed picture of what life is like for disabled people in a world without Changing Places while also sharing her wealth of knowledge on other types of facilities, best practice, information sharing, staff training and much more.

You’ll probably come out of these two sessions with a lot of questions – and that’s okay! Jane and Ben will both be on hand at the end of the session to answer any queries you might have. Whether it’s general info or something with your specific project in mind, this time is set aside for you to get the answers you need.
As well as delivering our training and seminars as part of our drive to bring accessible facilities to disabled people across the country, Access & Inclusion UK are also able to conduct world-class Access Audits for your venue, arena, stadium or anywhere else that might need them.
Access Audits assess your business against key legislation such as the Disability Discrimination Act to ensure that the access needs of disabled people are being met appropriately and in line with the law.
If your facility is open to the public, but has never had any sort of access audit conducted, we strongly advise that you get in touch with Jane and get the ball rolling; not being aware of the conditions of the legislation is not a defence against civil prosecution, which could lead to fines.
