Introducing Your Next

Changing Places Partner

RISE is uniquely positioned within the CP market. We are the only dedicated modular construction company with the specialist knowledge, experience and passion for Changing Places.

The RISE Difference

Modular Construction

We specialise in the design and build of modular Changing Places, based at our factory in Doncaster. Through our people and a select group of subcontractors, we provide a full turnkey service — including complex groundworks and building works — and take complete project ownership.

Specialist Knowledge

We’re not just builders: We have detailed a knowledge and experience with Changing Places. Our head of Changing Places, Ben Hickey, has supported the campaign for almost a decade and has overseen countless specialist installations.

We stand as one of the leading authorities on Changing Places toilets, and come highly recommended by the Changing Places Consortium. Last year alone (2021), we delivered specialist training and seminars to over 400 organisations, together with our partners at Access For All UK.

Purpose & Values

It’s hardly a radical stance, but at RISE, we believe in access for all. We believe that people with disabilities should be able to access safe, clean, and dignified public toilets, and participate inclusively in society.

Through our High Five Promise, we put our money where our mouth is, donating at least five per cent of our time and annual profits to the Changing Places campaign (last year, it was just under 20%).

Since establishing, we have always run free Changing Places seminars and training. We support campaigns, engage with local schools and colleges, and get hands-on with fundraising activities.

By combining our design and build expertise with specialist disability knowledge, we eliminate the need to engage multiple suppliers, and remain fully accountable for your project. Without doubt, it’s what our clients value most about working with RISE.

Speak to us, then speak to our clients. We would love to support your next modular CP project.

Practical Advice

Finding The Right Build Partner

If you’re still unclear and need help to identify the best placed organisation to deliver your modular Changing Places facility, here are a few things to research:

1. Recent Portfolio

A credible provider will be able to show you examples of recently completed projects. A dated portfolio is a red flag, as is a lack of customer testimonials. How many modular projects have they completed? How recent were they? Can you speak to their clients?

2. Build Quality

Some builds are practical, but aren’t necessarily well constructed. Ask questions about the materials used, as well as wall, floor and roof construction.

3. In-House Capability

To minimise hassle and cost, look for a partner that can provide a full turnkey service, without resorting to sub-contracting the majority of works. Please remember that supplying and installing specialist equipment is the simplest part of any modular Changing Places project!

4. User Experience

What is the thermal and acoustic performance of the build? Will the pod design and groundworks enable level threshold access? What is the quality of the specialist equipment installed?

5. Flexible Design

Ensure that aesthetics can be tailored to compliment existing building stock — this is particularly important for any heritage or listed properties. Can the external dimensions be amended to suit any site constraints. And what’s the plan if site access isn’t sufficient and your facility can’t be delivered as a complete unit?

6. Aftercare

What are the structural, workmanship and product warranties? Will you receive an O&M manual, along with certification from Building Control? Will your staff receive training? Is maintenance included?

We would advise to address all of these factors with your chosen partner, prior to making any formal commitment.
